First Lady Clar Weah Constructs 29-Bedroom Facility For Old-Folks

Restoring the lost respect and dignity of the elderlies through the provision of quality care and support, has at long last begun gaining steam, as the First Lady of Liberia has completed the construction of a 29-bedroom facility as a home for old-folks.

The facility was constructed by Mrs. Weah, through  the Clar Hope Foundation, to render quality care to the elderlies in Liberia.

Following intensive construction works that spanned approximately two years, the modern self-contained 29-bedroom facility known as the Decontee Home for the Elderly, situated in Liberia’s second largest city, Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, was completed and is awaiting inauguration.

Aside from the completion of infrastructural works at the facility, Mrs. Weah is currently exerting efforts and resources to operationalize the state-of-the-art Decontee Home for the Elderly.

For the elderlies to be lodged at the new facility, Mrs. Weah envisions three square meals daily, access to good healthcare and services, as well as proper maintenance; all of which she acknowledged as being cost intensive, for which she said significant funding is required.
